Adding a Contactzilla address book on your iPhone: Using the provisioning Profile

When you create a CardDAV connection in Contactzilla, you have the option to download a provisioning profile (a .mobileconfig file) that contains all the necessary connection settings for your device. This profile makes it easy to set up your iPhone to sync with Contactzilla by simply installing the profile on the device instead of manually entering server details, usernames, and passwords. It takes a matter of seconds!

Downloading the provisioning profile

  1. From your CardDAV connections list in Contactzilla, find the connection you want to use and click ‘Download profile’. This will download a .mobileconfig file which we will open on your iphone.

Installing the provisioning profile

  1. Send the downloaded .mobileconfig file to your iPhone (e.g. via email, AirDrop or iCloud Drive).
  2. On your iPhone, open the file. A notification will appear saying ‘Profile Downloaded’.
  3. Go to ‘Settings’ on your iPhone.
  4. Tap ‘Profile Downloaded’ near the top of the Settings menu.
  5. Tap ‘Install’ in the top right corner.
  6. Enter your passcode if prompted.
  7. Tap ‘Install’ again.
  8. Tap ‘Done’.

Your Contactzilla contacts will now automatically sync to your iPhone’s Contacts app.
