MS INTUNE: How to Deploy Contactzilla Address Books to iOS Devices using Microsoft Intune MDM

Step One & Two: Setup and Download

  • Create ‘iOS’ MDM CardDAV connection in Contactzilla.
  • Download the .mobileconfig file.

Step Three: Create Custom Profile in Intune

  1. Navigate to Devices → Configuration → Create → New policy.
  2. Select Platform: iOS/iPadOS.
  3. Select Profile type: Templates.
  4. Choose Template: Custom.

Step Four: Upload Configuration

  1. Name the policy (e.g., Contactzilla Address Book).
  2. Upload the previously downloaded .mobileconfig file as the configuration profile.

Step Five: Assign and Monitor

  1. Assign the profile to the target device group.
  2. Monitor status in ‘Device status’ until it shows as Succeeded.
Note:Deployments usually take anywhere from 15 minutes to 8 hours depending on device check-in intervals.

Step Six & Seven: Monitoring and Verification

Confirm that the contacts appear in the native Contacts app on the iOS device.
